These promotional activities are complemented with gastronomic experiences in which the tourist can taste, among others, the typical Andalusian breakfast based on Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Iberian cured ham, both with Protected Designation of Origin, and extra crushed tomato from Andalusia. These activities were already enjoyed last year by a large number of tourists who were on holiday in Andalusia.
There were also tastings of Extra Virgin Olive Oil with denominations of origin, where an expert taster brought the Andalusian “liquid gold” to the tourist, telling his story and demonstrating its quality. All this accompanied by tastings of food and fish products from the Andalusian coasts that enrich a varied diet, and paired with a wide selection of wines of Andalusian origin with a designation of origin.
This initiative was completed with a `press-trip´, which consists of a visit by eight international bloggers/journalists who are experts in gastronomy and tourism and who were able to see first-hand some of the production centres and activities related to the Andalusian agrifood industry for five days. A route that in its previous edition stopped at the market of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the Osborne Foundation, several organic crops and pastures or places of the Iberian pig, among others.
